How many questions are on the real New Hampshire knowledge test?
The New Hampshire knowledge test contains 40 multiple-choice questions covering rules of the road and general driving conditions.
What score do I need to pass?
You must score at least 80%, which means answering at least 32 of the 40 questions correctly. You have 40 minutes to complete the test.
How much does the New Hampshire knowledge test cost?
New Hampshire DMV does not list a separate knowledge-test fee. A standard operator license costs $50 and a REAL ID operator license costs $60. Youth Operator License fees are calculated at $10 for each year remaining until age 21.
Can I take the New Hampshire knowledge test online?
No. The knowledge test is completed by appointment through a New Hampshire DMV office.
What should I bring to the New Hampshire DMV office?
Bring a completed driver-license application, proof of identity and New Hampshire residency, and payment for the applicable license. Applicants under 18 must also bring their original green Driver Education Completion Certificate, a Parent or Guardian Authorization Certificate and certification of the required additional supervised driving.
What happens if I fail?
If you fail the New Hampshire knowledge test, you may schedule another attempt no sooner than 10 days after the failed test.
