The Nevada Class C knowledge test contains 25 multiple-choice questions covering Nevada traffic laws, road signs and safe-driving practices.

What score do I need to pass?

You must answer at least 20 of the 25 questions correctly, which is an 80% passing score. The test ends when you reach 20 correct answers or six incorrect answers.

How much does the Nevada knowledge test cost?
Nevada charges a $25 initial testing fee, which covers the written test and initial driving-skills test. The instruction-permit licensing fee is $22.50, and each retest costs $10.

Can I take the Nevada permit test online?

Yes. Nevada offers the official Class C knowledge test online through KnowToDrive Nevada. It is available in English and Spanish and requires a computer with a front-facing camera. Touch-screen devices are not supported. The online test has a 60-minute time limit. You may also take the test in person at a DMV office, where it is not timed.

What should I bring to the Nevada DMV office?
Bring proof of identity, proof of your Social Security number and two documents showing your Nevada residential address. Applicants under 18 must also provide a Certification of Attendance form or qualifying proof of high-school completion or exemption, along with the required minor application documents.

What happens if I fail?
If you fail the Nevada knowledge test, you may retake it the next day and must pay the $10 retest fee. If an online attempt is disqualified, you must wait at least 24 hours before trying again.
