Delaware DMV lists a $40 Class D license fee for Level One Learner’s Permit applicants.

Can I take the Delaware permit test online?

Delaware DMV provides an online sample written test, but the official learner’s permit process requires DMV testing and issuance through the Delaware Division of Motor Vehicles. Use the official DMV site for the latest testing and appointment options.

What should I bring to the Delaware DMV office?
Bring documents proving your identity, legal presence, Social Security number if eligible, and two proofs of Delaware residency. Under-18 GDL applicants also need a sponsor signature and a Delaware Driver Education Certificate, also known as the Blue/White Certificate.

What happens if I fail?
If you fail the Delaware knowledge test, you will need to retake it. Review the topics you missed before trying again.

What happens after I pass?
For adult learner’s permit applicants, Delaware DMV says the learner’s permit is issued after successful completion of the eye screening and knowledge exams. After passing the Class D knowledge exam, you must wait at least 10 days before taking the road skills exam.
